Palestine Israel Visits 2012-2013
Combatants for Peace (CfP) is a grassroots movement of Israeli and Palestinian ex-combatants engaged in a non-violent struggle to end the Israeli occupation.
Over 2012/13 Ben Yeger is delivering a programme of workshops and processes in Israel/Palestine to support the personal capacity and inner resilience of members of CfP and the movement as a whole. The project will help strengthen the commitment, determination and ability of members to continue bringing about internal transformation and conflict resolution, becoming more effective in reaching out to their communities and leading direct actions on the ground.
Up until June 2012 our work focused on supporting visits from CfP members to the UK and this work will be ongoing in 2013 with a focus on individual rather than group visits. During a visit from CfP member Yousre Slamen we held a screening of the award-winning documentary ‘Within the Eye of the Storm’, you can read our Storify record of the event here.
The first of Ben’s three visits to Palestine/Israel was in November 2012 where he spent four weeks and held a workshop for CfP members in Talita Kumi.
The second visit in March - April 2013 led to Ben facilitating a process about the alternative Memorial Day event.
During Ben’s third visit from October - December, he will deliver intensive capacity building projects for all the regional groups with the express aim of leaving the groups with tools to continue the work after he has left.
Read Ben’s blog for details of all his visits.
Ben spoke about his CfP work at TedX Warwick: Building Bridges on March 9th.
