Artists Lab 2012

The Encounters Lab took place monthly during 2012 and was focused on exploring the messy moments and fertile edges of socio-ecological engaged practice. The lab was an opportunity to hone ideas and try out new ones alongside other practitioners.

The Encounters Lab was open to artists, facilitators, educators, activists and others involved in socio-ecological engaged practice.

We are interested in ‘those moments’ where the deepest dreaming meets the profoundly ordinary, where conflict glimmers with potential for insight, where something faint is noticed and deserves some good attention. All this towards radical culture change for a more interconnected and sustainable world.

The Encounters Labs create an opportunity to explore work and ideas that you want to experiment with. It’s a space to ask questions. What do you really feel called to offer as artist and practitioner at this moment in time? What are the sticky questions you want to share with others: about your own work, the world or the nature of change?

The Encounters Lab is being facilitated by Encounters Creative Director Ruth Ben-Tovim and Creative Associate Toni Spencer.
