Diary Keepers
Diarykeepers is a creative community project devised to look to the future of the Tamar Valley by encouraging reflection on the way people live in the valley now, and using Valley resident Joseph Snell’s diaries, 1914-1938 as inspiration. In the month of June 2012, people across the Tamar Valley were encouraged to write a daily diary about their own day to day lives, current affairs, the weather and anything else that felt important to them in hand-made diaries given to them or through twitter or email submission. 90+ people of all ages took part in the project.
A site specific performance and installation using extracts from the 2012 diaries and Joseph Snell’s diaries will take place on 14 October 2012 in St Dominick, Cornwall, PL12 6SS. The free performance takes place between 12.30-5pm (last entry at 4.30) where people will be guided around in small groups. The performance will take place on land belonging to Roy Clark, a market gardener, in his greenhouse, packing shed and polytunnels. See below for more details.
